How to Watch Apple TV Movies On Your iPad or iPhone

In between episodes of Dexter and True Blood, I’ll search for movies on sale in Apple TV. And this week was the perfect time to shop: Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are on sale for only $9.99 each!

I’m a huge fan of the latest Batman movies, so I obviously purchased both movies from my Apple TV… and watched both :) And now I own them permanently, in HD, and I don’t ever have to worry about scratching or losing a disc!

But, I had a question:

How do you download a movie from Apple TV to my iPad & Mac?

It’s easy to do – and you have a choice to:

  • download directly to your iPad or iPhone
  • download to your Mac (then sync the movie to your iPad/iPhone)

Download to iPad

  1. Open the iTunes app
  2. Tap the “Purchased” button in the bottom menu
  3. Tap the “View” button in the top left corner of the screen
  4. Tap “Movies” from the menu
  5. Tap the Cloud/Arrow button next to the movie you want to download
  6. Done!

Download to iPhone

  1. Open the iTunes app
  2. Tap the “Purchased” button in the bottom menu
  3. Tap “Movies”
  4. Tap the Cloud/Arrow button next to the movie you want to download
  5. Done!

Download to Your Mac

  1. Open iTunes on your Mac
  2. Click on “iTunes Store” in the left menu
  3. Click on “Purchased” in the right menu
  4. Click “Movies” at the top
  5. Tap the Cloud/Arrow button next to the movie you want to download
  6. Done!

Sync Movies as Needed

Now that you’ve downloaded the movies to your iPad, iPhone and/or Mac, you can sync with iTunes to transfer the movies and backup.

Easy!
