Evasi0n V1.4 Unleashed: Jailbreaks iOS 6.1.2
Earlier this month, iDevice users on iOS 6.1.x noticed a significant increase in network usage/activity due to the Exchange Calendar issue which greatly affected their devices’ performance and battery life. Another flaw reported was the passcode glitch which allowed access to your device by making and immediately cancelling an emergency call and holding down the sleep/wake button twice. To address both of these, the Cupertino firm released iOS 6.1.2 today and as expected, the update does its job well but unfortunately it may also make you lose your jailbreak if you do update.
Of course our ever-vigilant jailbreaks Gurus are very much aware of this and in fact, Evad3rs Team Member Yiduo David Wang (a.k.a. PlanetBeing) sent us a tweet assuring us that a fix for the fix is on the way.
Sure enough, evasi0n version 1.4 was unleashed this morning as promised which supports the untethered jailbreak for the recently released iOS 6.1.2 update. This latest version of the jailbreak is basically similar to the previous one with the added support for iOS 6.1.2 so if you are on iOS 6.1.1 or lower and would want to update your device or if you’ve just updated your device to Apple’s latest iOS then by all means download evasi0n 1.4. But if your device is already jailbroken and haven’t updated yet or do not have any plan of updating to the latest iOS, then you won’t be needing the latest iteration of the evasi0n jailbreak.
So the cat and mouse game goes on but for this round the Evad3rs Team is clearly the winner but, as sure as the sun rises every day, Apple will definitely be back with another update to make the game more interesting. When that happens, we here at appleslut will be the first to let you know.
Because here at Appleslut, we’re…
