If you use MobileMe as your primary email address, then you’ve probably received email spam. Here are 2 quick ways to keep the spam out of your MobileMe email account.
Alias Email Accounts in MobileMe
Apple recommends creating alias email accounts in MobleMe. They suggest creating a second email address that will deliver messages to your primary account.
Whenever you sign up for a newsletter or are required to give an email address for any reason, give out the alias address. Then, if you get too much spam, delete the alias account. Lastly, create a new alias account to give out.
You can repeat this process over and over. time. However, if you delete one, you can create another. You can have 5 alias email accounts at one.
Forwarding Email Account From Gmail
I believe Gmail’s spam filter is better than MobileMe – that’s why I use a Gmail email address and forward it to my MobileMe account. Yes, this is slightly more complicated than creating a MobileMe Alias, but it’s been much better at reducing the amount of email spam I receive.
a) Create a Gmail account. Go to http://gmail.com and create an account.

b) Login to your Gmail account and click Settings.

c) Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP

d) Click Add a Forwarding Address – then enter your MobileMe email address.
e) Click Save at the bottom of the page
Every time you signup for a newsletter, make a purchase online or are required to give your email address, give your new Gmail email address.
Any email that’s sent to your Gmail account will be filtered for spam by Gmail. If the message passes the spam test, it will be forwarded automatically to your MobileMe account.
This should drastically reduce the amount of spam in your MobileMe email account.
If you start getting too much spam, go back to Gmail and turn forwarding off. Then repeat the process with a brand new Gmail account.
